IZArc (free archiver software)

IZArc (pronounced "easy-arc")

Archiving tool that suports many formats

Still looking for a compression tool with support for the most archive formats out there? Still seeking an application that has been gifted with a freeware license? In case the answer to both questions is “yes”, you’re in luck.

IZArc is one of the best compression tools out there, and not only that it can work with so many formats, but it can also do almost everything all the other apps in this particular software category do for a hefty price.

The program has a very simple interface, but the real power relies under the hood. The list of formats it support include the following: 7-ZIP, A, ACE, ARC, ARJ,B64, BZ2, BH, CAB, BZA, CPIO, ENC, DEB, GCA, GZ, GZA, HA, JAR, LHA, LIB, LZH, MBF, MIM, PAK, PK3, RAR, RPM, TAR, TAZ, TBZ, TGZ, TZ, UUE, XXE, YZ1, Z, ZIP, ZOO.

It has tons of features, just like the number of archivers at this point, regardless if we’re talking about advanced compression, drag and drop support, multi-volume creators, Zip encryption, UnSFX executable files, file searching directly into archives and many, many other great things.

Just as expected, IZArc perfectly integrates into the Windows context menu, so you won’t have any problem extracting files from archives on the fly.

During our test, IZArc worked impressively smooth, although it might seem to have some sort of issues when it comes to dealing with larger archives. It slows down the system a little bit when striving to extract files from archives over 100 MB, but it works just fine with the other ones.

All things considered, you won’t find a better compression tool out there, and although there are a lot of powerful apps on the market, IZArc is definitely worth a chance.
