9 Fun Things You Can Do During Earth Hour 2012

On March 31 at 8:30 pm, WWF’s Earth Hour will begin. Started in 2007, Earth Hour is a symbolic act to get us thinking about our planet and our impact on it. But more than that, it’s also part of a simple idea to start an environmental resolution in 2012 -- this is not only about one hour in the dark, it’s about a brighter future. But even though you're switching off your lights and electronic appliances for the environment this weekend, you don't have to sit twiddling your thumbs in the dark. There is still a lot you can do without using a watt of electricity this Saturday. Earth Hour can be as fun as it is good for the planet, and if you're looking for some entertaining ways to spend it you're in luck because we've rounded up 9 fun activities that are sure to deliver a good time completely off-grid!

1. Have a candle-lit dinner using menus from celebrity chefs
Celebrate the hour with your partner, friends or family and have a candlelit dinner with your own tasty dishes based on WWF’s Livewell principles, which has been created for healthy people and a planet with a brilliant future. Download their dinner party guide or get inspired by the menus created by celebrity chefs who are supporting the Livewell principles.

2. Invite friends around for a pub quiz and board games by candlelight
IWWF’s Earth Hour is all about people coming together to celebrate our world. If you’ve decided to invite friends over, the Earth Hour team has created a fantastic Pub Quiz to download to make the most of the night while the lights remain off.

3. Take a wildlife walk or go star-gazing
Get closer to nature while doing something for your health and well-being by taking a night walk or going star-gazing. And if you don’t have a telescope, don’t worry. Just darkness, a blanket and hot drinks will be enough for a perfect star-gazing hour.

4. Go for a nightime city walk
If you are a “city animal”, why not take a walk around town and see what has switched off in your city? Last year many landmarks such as the Sydney Opera House, the Tour Eiffel and Big Ben switched off their lights in honor of Earth Hour. This year is sure to find more participants, so be sure to check out what else is happening.

5. Go for a nighttime bike ride
Cycling is not a trend, it’s part of a sustainable lifestyle. Everyday more people decide to leave their car at home and start cycling. And once you’ve started cycling, you can’t stop. So why not go for a ride during the hour?

6. Try candle-lit yoga or exercise
“Mens sana in corpore sano,” says the famous Latin quotation. WWF’s Earth Hour is a moment for appreciating the brilliant world we all share, and how we need to protect it. Use this time to pursue a more sustainable and healthy lifestyle.

7. Have an unplugged jam session at home
Invite your friends over and unplug while you enjoy some in-house music. If you want to learn more on how you can reduce your energy demand, you can find more tips on WWF’s Earth Hour website.

8. Read a bed time story
Light a candle to create a cozy atmosphere, and transform your favorite bedtime story into a fantastic journey of the imagination.

9. Get a light switch-widget for your website or blog
For the bloggers, tumblrs, and more, there is a light switch on the Earth Hour website you can use to help support the cause by going lights out. But don’t worry about your visitors leaving, they can still remove the pull cord if they like.

Nightmare' zoo at Indonesia

This news is very embarrassing for indonesia. I as Indonesian citizen, and I am veryembarrassed by this news. I quote this News from Telegraph.co.uk. Check this out.

The tigers are emaciated and the 180 pelicans packed so tightly they cannot unfurl their wings without hitting a neighbour. Last week, a giraffe died with a beachball-sized wad of plastic food wrappers in its belly.
A Bengal white tiger, which is missing an ear and suffers from a spinal problem, lays inside a cage at the quarantine section of Surabaya Zoo in Surabaya, East Java, Indonesia Photo: AP

That death has focused new attention on the scandalous conditions at Indonesia's largest zoo. Set up nearly a century ago in one the most biologically diverse corners of the planet, it once boasted the most impressive collection in southeast Asia.

But today the Surabaya Zoo is a nightmare, plagued by uncontrolled breeding, a lack of funding for general animal welfare and even persistent suspicions that members of its own staff are involved in illegal wildlife trafficking.

Incredibly rare species, including Komodo dragons and critically endangered orang-utans, sit in dank, unsanitary cages, filling up on peanuts tossed over the fence by giggling visitors.

"This is extremely tragic, but of course by no means surprising in Indonesia's zoos, given the appalling way they are managed on the whole," said Ian Singleton, a former zookeeper who now runs an orang-utan conservation programme on Sumatra island.

The zoo came under heavy fire two years ago following reports that 25 of its 4,000 animals were dying every month, almost all of them prematurely. They included an African lion, a Sumatran tiger and several crocodiles.

The government appointed an experienced zookeeper, Tony Sumampouw, to clean up the operation and he struggled, with some success, to bring the mortality rate down to about 15 per month.

But following last week's death of the 30-year-old giraffe "Kliwon" – who had for years been eating litter and trash thrown into its pen and was found with a 18-kilogram (40-pound) ball of plastic in its stomach – Sumampouw said he has all but given up.
Nothing short of a "total renovation" is needed, he said.

"We need to either think about privatising or transferring out some of the animals."
With entrance fees of less than £1.50, critics say there's not enough money to care for the animals, much less invest in improving the zoo's facilities.

One of the biggest problems is overcrowding.
Whereas most zoos limit the number of animals born in captivity – taking into consideration how many can reasonably be cared for or exchanged with other zoos – the notion of "family planning" has not yet taken off here. Contraceptives are expensive and there are not adequate facilities to separate males and females. As result, species at the Surabaya zoo are bred to excess.

The 180 pelicans are kept in a pen the size of a volleyball court. Nearby, 16 tigers – 12 Sumatran and four Bengalese – are kept in a prison-like row of concrete cages.

One white tiger, whose parents were donated by the Indian government nearly 20 years ago, is now covered by skin legions.

Let out so rarely, she suffers from back complications that make it difficult to just stand up, let alone walk, zoo curator Sri Pentawati said.

"There are too many tigers," she lamented. "We have a hard time rotating them out to get all the exercise they need."

Rahmat Shah – a well known big-game hunter with a museum in the city of Medan that is filled with rhinos, big cats and other animals he's shot around the world – currently heads Indonesia's National Zoo Association. He says none of the zoos run by the government are in good condition, but that Surabaya is especially troubled, due to a bitter internal rift.

Two men who each claimed to be the zoo's chief were fired several years ago, but their followers among the staff have continued the feud.

Police believe the poisoning death of a Javan warthog in January, found with traces of cyanide in its stomach, was linked to that conflict.

"One side is always trying to discredit the other," said Ludvie Achmad, head of a local conservation agency.

Sumampouw acknowledged he has had little success in controlling the undisciplined staff.

He said he believes some animals, including three young Komodos that disappeared last year, were stolen by caretakers and sold into the exotic pet trade.

Zookeepers also have been accused of taking meat meant for the tigers and selling it in the local market.

Hacker Anonymous takes down security firm's website

Source : Computerworld
Panda Security says hack of PandaLabs did not breach company's internal network

Computerworld - Hackers claiming to belong to the Anonymous hacking collective early Wednesday defaced Panda Security's PandaLabs website in apparent response to the arrests of five hackers Tuesday in the U.K. and the U.S.
In a characteristically defiant message posted on PandaLabs' hacked homepage, Anonymous taunted the former LulzSec leader Sabu for helping the FBI nab the hackers, and vowed to carry on its hactivist campaign regardless of the setback.
"We are Antisec we'll fight till the end," the message noted. "To FBI and other s.... come at us bros we are waiting for you," it noted. The message was preceded by a seven-minute video clip set to the tune of "Santa Claus is Coming to Town" that appeared to recap Anonymous' activities over the past year.
The attackers also posted what seemed to be the login credentials of numerous Panda Labs employees on the defaced homepage. They noted that the attack on the security firm's site was in retaliation for Panda's alleged role in helping law enforcement crack down on members of the hacking collective.

"They helped to jail 25 anonymous in different countries and they were actively participating in our IRC channels trying to dox many others," the attackers said in apparent reference to a series of arrests of Anonymous members last year. "Yep we know about you. How does it feels being the spied one?" the message asked.

In an emailed statement, a Panda Security spokeswoman said the hackers had obtained access to a Panda Security webserver that was hosted outside of Panda's internal network. This server was used only for marketing campaigns and to host company blogs, it said. "Neither the main website www.pandasecurity.com nor www.cloudantivirus.com were affected in the attack," the statement said.

"The attack did not breach Panda Security's internal network and neither source code, update servers nor customer data was accessed. The only information accessed was related to marketing campaigns such as landing pages and some obsolete credentials, including supposed credentials for employees that have not been working at Panda for over five years," the company said.

Screenshot of the Pandalabs hack.

Prior to the attack, PandaLabs technical director Luis Corrons had posted a blog titled "Where is the Lulz Now" praising Tuesday's arrests.

The attack on Panda Labs comes less than 24 hours after the U.S. Attorney's office for the Southern District of New York said it had arrested five prominent members of Anonymous and a splinter group LulzSec in raids in the U.K. and in Chicago. Among those arrested was an individual who is alleged to have been responsible for the Christmas Day hacks against security intelligence firm Strategic Forecasting (Stratfor).

Each of the individuals was indicted on computer hacking charges and faces a maximum of 20 to 30 years in prison if convicted.

The arrests were made with the help of Hector Monsegur, a New York native who was the leader of LulzSec before being arrested last year. Monsegur, who also used the handle "Sabu," pleaded guilty in August to 12 hacking charges and faces up to 124 years in prison. After his arrest, Sabu agreed to help the FBI go after other members of LulzSec and Anonymous in the hopes of receiving a reduced sentence.

The attackers of Panda's website this morning chided Monsegur for being a snitch. "Traison (sic) is something we don't forgive," the message noted. "Yeah Yeah we know...Sabu snitched on us. As usually happens FBI menaced him to take his sons away we understood."

The attackers noted that the arrests might well mean the end of LulzSec, but not of Anonymous. "Anonymous existed before LulzSec and will continue existing," the message read.

Analysts lauded the FBI's efforts in nabbing the alleged Anonymous hackers but had expressed doubt over the long-term impact it would have on the group's activities.

The arrests show that it is going to be increasingly hard for Anonymous to act with the kind impunity they have shown in the past, Rich Mogull, an analyst with Securois, had said. "But there's no way to predict where this will go," he noted.

CPU-Z freeware system profiler

A program that provides some information about your CPU and the devices on your computerWritten by Bogdan Popa on January 30th, 2012

All avid computer users know by heart all the components located under the hood of their PC. And for this to happen they require a tool like CPU-Z, an application that can provide an impressive amount of information related to hardware resources.

There are quite a lot of similar software solutions out there, but CPU-Z is basically the definition of simplicity and efficiency. However, extra care during the installation, as it offers to deploy a browser toolbar, as well as to change the homepage and the search engines of your browsers.

After installing CPU-Z, beginners are advised to take the time and read the documentation in order to be able to correctly read the data collected by the application.

Every time the app is launched, it automatically scans the computer for changes and displays all the information within a single, tab-based window. This way, users can easily read data regarding the CPU, mainboard, memory or graphics in a matter of seconds and few mouse clicks.

Another advantage of this automatic scanning is the fact that one can replace various components, then analyze the way their PC works, thus coming up with the best configuration.

If one wishes to review the data at a later time, CPU-Z gives the option to save the report in two different formats, TXT or HTML, generating a complete report about your hardware components.

One of the best aspects of CPU-Z is that it comes with a freeware license, so every user can enjoy its benefits with no strings attached. The software provides a great amount of detailed information, while still being extremely light on resources, so that it works smoothly even with older machines, providing an impressive range of data.

CPU-Z description

CPU-Z is a detection program base on the Panopsys hardware detection engine. It is a handy and reliable application designed to gather info on some of the main devices of your system.

Cpu-Z allows you to get some info on your computer, including:

· Processor name and vendor
· Core stepping and process
· Processor package
· Processor current core voltage
· Internal and external clocks, clock multiplier
· Partial overclock detection
· Processor features, including supported instructions sets.
· L1 to L3 cache information : location, size, speed, technology.
· Motherboard information : name, vendor, BIOS, chipset, memory, AGP.
· Memory information : size, type, timings, specifications.

CPU-Z also provides several tools :

· A complete report, that includes CPUID, MSR, PCI device list, SPD, DMI.
· A cache latency calculation tool

This tool computes the real latency of each cache memory level. Notice that the reported sizes may not be the correct ones on CPUs that use an exclusive L2 (for example a Duron will report a 128Kb L2 cache size instead of 64Kb, because the L1 size in included).

Moreover, notice that using this tool if the CPUs is heavy loaded can provide bad results. Please use the "Refresh" button to restart the calculation.

AIMP 3.00 Build 976

Source : here

Qualitative and pure playing multimedia of files, including mp3
Written by Elena Opris on October 21st, 2011

AIMP is a multimedia player freeware of high quality which supports most known audio formats.

First you must extract files and then install the freeware in either portable version (for removable devices) and custom version (recommended), in a single user or multi user mode.

The entire pack contains main components, skins, visualizations, input plugins, additional components (e.g. audio library, internet radio browser, the very impressive Last.FM plugin), and languages. Choose between full, lite, minimal and custom installation.

Several seconds later you initiate AIMP (which resembles Winamp at first glance).

We found the overall text and graphics to be a bit tiny, considering the latest trends in software technology (with big icons, text, images etc). Eye vision is not the strongest point of the computer user after a certain age!

There is an auto-shutdown feature available, an alarm clock, a quick search for songs, and also the possibility to add songs as bookmarks. You can also set up your own hot keys if you're not satisfied with the default ones.

The quality of sound is pretty good, especially when AIMP supports OGG, MP3, WMA, WAV, and others. AIMP ran smoothly and we have not encountered any technical problems, while the CPU usage was to a minimum.

In conclusion, we liked what we saw in AIMP, and we strongly recommend you try it. Clearly, the developers of AIMP put some muscle into it, as they wanted to optimize the best features of all multimedia players into a single pack – give the trial a shot, and see so for yourself.

AIMP description

AIMP is more than an audio player: it supports numerous audio formats (including OGG, MP3, WMA, WAV, OGG etc), it includes an audio converter, an audio ripper, an audio recorder, a tag editor and lots of other features. You can also download additional plugins and skins from the official website.

Avast! Free Antivirus 7.0.1412 R2 Beta

Source : here

FREE antivirus software with spyware protectionWritten by Bogdan Popa on January 4th, 2012

Avast! Free Antivirus is a reliable antivirus software solution designed to provide computer users with effective protection against viruses and spyware.

Avast comes with well-organized interface that targets beginners and professional users alike, with all features being clearly displayed right in the main window.

Be careful during the installation though, because the setup kit also attempts to drop a separate browser on your computer, although Avast doesn't need this kind of app to work properly.

However, once installed, Avast works simply great, with virus definitions updated even several times a day. The scanning process is very fast and is quite light on hardware resources, but it all depends on the computer and the files you're about to scan. We were pleased with its speed during our tests, even though sometimes we were a bit annoyed by the boot-time scanner.

The boot scanner is actually a very handy function because it attempts to scan the computer before the operating system is fully loaded and thus before any virus is ready to take control of certain system files.

There are four scanning modes, as follows: “Quick Scan”, “Full System Scan”, “Removable Media Scan” and “Select folder to scan”; the latter allows for an in-depth scan of a user definded location. The “Quick Scan” mode takes just a few minutes, while the "Full System" mode can last for more than a half an hour, depending on the size of the drive and the amount of data stored locally.

In addition, Avast comes with dedicated tools to protect multiple apps running on your computer, so it also comprises a “File System Shield”, a “Mail Shield”, a “Web Shield”, a “P2P Shield” to protect peer-to-peer programs, an “IM Shield” for instant messaging clients, a “Network Shield”, a “Script Shield” and a “Behavior Shield”.

All in all, Avast is a must have if you're looking for a reliable antivirus solution and, as far as we're concerned, this application is indeed serious competition for other elite software tools belonging to this particular category.

Avast! Free Antivirus description

Here are some key features of "Avast! Free Antivirus":

Core and detection:
· Antivirus and anti-spyware engine
· State of the art scanning engine provides reliable protection against viruses, spyware and other forms of malicious software.

Real time anti-rootkit protection:
· Unique "on access" technology checks all kernel-mode drivers that the operating system is loading for signs of rootkit behavior. This enables even unknown rootkits to be detected and stopped before they can do any damage.

avast! Community IQ:
· Most samples we process come from sensors deployed throughout the avast! community in the Behavior shield and anti-rootkit modules. This is a unique source of data made possible only thanks to our huge user base. Most of the collected samples are analysed by a number of automated processes and only a small fraction of the samples need to be processed manually by our virus analysts.

Code emulator:
· When a suspicious executable is encountered (during both on-demand and on-access scanning), avast! is able to emulate the program’s code in an isolated environment. The code emulator is used for two purposes. First, it is used for generic unpacking. Secondly, it is used in the heuristics engine. Technically, this is done using dynamic translation, a method much faster than traditional emulation techniques.

Heuristics engine:
· avast! features a new heuristics engine designed to proactively detect malware undetectable with normal definitions. The heuristics engine is able to cover both binary (executable) and script malware.

Potentially unwanted programs detection:
· avast! detects potentially unwanted programs, such as remote admin tools and commercial key loggers. Custom rules can be set for dealing with these types of programs.

Scanning:
· Boot-time scanner
· Allows you to scan your computer for infections before the operating system has started and before a virus can be activated (32-bit operating systems only).

Command-line scanner:
· Enables you to run a scan directly from the command line.

Wake-up for scan:
· Microsoft Windows is woken from sleep or hibernation mode, performs a scheduled scan, then returns back to sleep mode.

Scheduled scanning:
· Allows users to define the scan time and files to be scanned.

avast! Intelligent Scanner:
· Can reduce the number of required file scans by up to 80% through a white list of proven safe applications. Files identified as safe are not rescanned unless they change.

Shields:
· Behavior Shield
· Monitors activity on your computer using a number of sensors (file system, registry and network based) and reports/blocks any suspicious behavior.

· Behavioral Honeypots
· avast! sensors identify and monitor suspicious file activity on selected computers, automatically submitting files to the Virus Lab for additional analysis.

· File System Shield
· Real-time scanning of opened/executed files.

· Mail Shield
· Scans all incoming/outgoing e-mails for malware. For MS Outlook, a special plug-in is used. Other email clients are protected by a generic POP3/IMAP4/SMTP proxy. New in version 5, the proxy also supports scanning of SSL communication (gmail.com, sympatico.ca, ….)

Online Virtual Desktop (Cloud Computing)

A web desktop or webtop is a desktop environment embedded in a web browser or similar client application. A webtop integrates web applications, web services, client–server applications, application servers, and applications on the local client into a desktop environment using the desktop metaphor. Web desktops provide an environment similar to that of Windows, Mac, or a graphical user interface on Unix and Linux systems. It is a virtual desktop running in a web browser. In a webtop the applications, data, files, configuration, settings, and access privileges reside remotely over the network. Much of the computing takes place remotely. The browser is primarily used for display and input purposes.

The terms “web desktop” and “webtop” are distinct from web operating system, a network operating system such as TinyOS or distributed operating system such as Inferno. In popular use, web desktops are sometimes referred to incorrectly as web operating systems or simply WebOS.

In the past few days, I’ve tested a bunch of virtual online operating systems and web desktop applications, I’ve gathered the best of them that I’ve personally tested and found interesting to be shared with you, enough talk and let’s get them listed:

CCleaner

When it comes to keeping one's computer clean, it is advisable to rely on dedicate software so as to ensure greater PC performance and get more storage space on the hard disks. CCleaner is a renowned tool for removing unnecessary data with a few mouse clicks.

It’s very easy to install CCleaner as it only takes a few seconds before all files are successfully copied. After that, a user-friendly interface brings into focus the main functions right from the first window: Cleaner, Registry, Tools and Options.

One of the advantages of CCleaner is that it works very fast and, above all, it is efficient in removing temporary files and data processed by multiple browsers as well as other applications.

Furthermore, it can delete other system files that might slow down the computer, such as memory dumps and Windows log files, all with a single click.

The Registry fixer can repair issues found in the Windows Registry, thus speeding up the operating system and prevent problems that might occur when launching certain applications.

The application also comprises some other tools meant to help users boost computer performance. The program uninstaller has the power to remove apps just like the dedicated Windows tool, the startup controller allows users to choose the programs that run at startup, the System Restore feature is useful in case something goes wrong, while the drive wiper can securely erase the content of a disk.

On the other hand, one can also configure CCleaner to exclude specific files and folders from scan, so as to make sure that important data is not accidentally erased.

All in all, CCleaner is probably the best one can get when it comes to a freebie able to clean up a computer and it definitely deserves attention from all those who value their privacy.

7zip (free archiver software)

Source : here
A very good file archiver with highest compression ratio

There was a time when computer applications were few and a specific tool was used for each task one wanted to perform, such as image viewing, archiving files or converting videos. Nowadays however, the market has a lot more alternatives for each area, and when it comes to archivers, 7-Zip is definitely an app worth taking into consideration.

Installing it is a simple procedure and it all takes only a few seconds since you have to deal with such a light package. The interface is the same as the ones we’ve seen in other compression tools, but 7-Zip also includes a powerful file manager, so browsing the files stored in archives is really simple.

The tool supports most archive formats out there, including RAR, ZIP, TAR, GZ, LZH, LZA, ARJ and ISO, but it also comes with its very own extension, namely 7z.

You will be amazed by how fast 7-Zip compressed and decompresses files and the fact that it automatically places a bunch of options in the Windows context menu makes the whole thing a lot easier, while also saving a lot of time when it comes to managing archives. Those who do not like to have a cluttered Windows context menu can easily remove the 7-zip related items whenever they please.

As expected, compression is a smooth operation and in case you really want to save some space on your hard drives, 7-Zip might come in very handy. Just right click the files you want to compress, select the function you need and you’re ready to go.

A feature not typically encountered in file compressors is the checkum calculator, meant to help you verify the integrity of any downloaded package. The Benchmark function also comes in handy when you want to test the performance of your computer.

All in all, 7-Zip is the compression tool that you need to install if you are not willing to pay for a license for one the other similar apps on the market. It is freeware and works with so many formats that it you are bound to be satisfied with it.

IZArc (free archiver software)

IZArc (pronounced "easy-arc")

Archiving tool that suports many formats

Still looking for a compression tool with support for the most archive formats out there? Still seeking an application that has been gifted with a freeware license? In case the answer to both questions is “yes”, you’re in luck.

IZArc is one of the best compression tools out there, and not only that it can work with so many formats, but it can also do almost everything all the other apps in this particular software category do for a hefty price.

The program has a very simple interface, but the real power relies under the hood. The list of formats it support include the following: 7-ZIP, A, ACE, ARC, ARJ,B64, BZ2, BH, CAB, BZA, CPIO, ENC, DEB, GCA, GZ, GZA, HA, JAR, LHA, LIB, LZH, MBF, MIM, PAK, PK3, RAR, RPM, TAR, TAZ, TBZ, TGZ, TZ, UUE, XXE, YZ1, Z, ZIP, ZOO.

It has tons of features, just like the number of archivers at this point, regardless if we’re talking about advanced compression, drag and drop support, multi-volume creators, Zip encryption, UnSFX executable files, file searching directly into archives and many, many other great things.

Just as expected, IZArc perfectly integrates into the Windows context menu, so you won’t have any problem extracting files from archives on the fly.

During our test, IZArc worked impressively smooth, although it might seem to have some sort of issues when it comes to dealing with larger archives. It slows down the system a little bit when striving to extract files from archives over 100 MB, but it works just fine with the other ones.

All things considered, you won’t find a better compression tool out there, and although there are a lot of powerful apps on the market, IZArc is definitely worth a chance.

KGB Archiver (Free high compression software)

Source : here

A compression tool with unbelievable high compression rate

Some compression tools are famous for being able to considerably reduce the size of a document, software, audio, video, or image text, while maintaining their attributes (e.g. the quality of an image).

But there is one compression tool we know about which takes archiving to the next level.

KGB Archiver (and no, it is not associated with the Russian former Committee for State Security) has a never-seen-before compression rate.

This small and seemingly plain software is extremely powerful, and it could easily surpass other products of its kind (when it comes to compression size, not speed).

Archives can be made in either KGB or ZIP format, and compression level can be set from minimal to maximum (with a lot of options in between). Plus, you can secure them by assigning a password, no matter which compression level you choose.

For example, we compressed a file of 1.2MB at maximum level. The process took 30 seconds, and the result weighed 366,5KB. We imagine a large file takes a lot more than that. So, yes, KBG Archiver is powerful, but it also takes long time for the extreme or maximum compression level.

When the application is open but has no active tasks, system memory is considerably used, but when a file is being compressed, the numbers are skyrocketing!

So, in case you're thinking about archiving a large file and leaving KGB Archiver to do its job while you're playing a video game, think again. But this scenario works when you leave your computer on and carry on with the rest of your day.

Browsing for files also takes KGB Archiver some time (especially when you accidentally select the Windows folder), and for some reason, the software couldn't read the Documents and Settings folder.

We must mention we tested it on Windows 7.

In conclusion, if you want to sacrifice some time but get extraordinary compression results, then KGB Archiver is perfect for you.
